My son loves it!!, April 26, 2010
I purchased this item for my 2 year old son for his birthday. He is a huge fan of playing in the sand. The height is perfect for him and there is plenty or room for play. If you prefer the sandbox to be on the ground you can just remove the legs. My only complaint is that the cover still leaks when it rains a lot. To solve that problem I just put a tarp over it with the lid on.
Great little sandbox, April 19, 2010
My s year old loves this. we looked everywhere for one with legs and a lid. It is very sturdy, I have caught my 70 pound lab mix sitting on top of it and it did not even put a dent in it
Great Sand Table, April 1, 2010
Bought this table after researching for a few days. Used to have a sand box with cover but after a few years, for whatever reason, we had some resident rodents in it...yuck! The sand was pretty smelly so it got dumped and the sand box has not been used since. Thought this might be better because it's raised off the ground. Just arrived today...legs hard to put on but if you stomp on them when the table is upside down, they snap in place. We arrived home from school just as the UPS delivery man was placing the package on our porch. He was smiling as he pulled out of the driveway...he must have heard the screams of excitement from my 3 and 6 year olds as they spotted the brown van in the driveway! Anyhow, the kids were so excited...they dug right in. Put a 50 lb. bag of play sand in...holds 80 but I think I'll save the 2nd bag to replace some as the other sand will inevitably fall to the ground as they play. The table is rather shallow, as someone else remarked also. It's lower to the ground too...but the kids had there chairs out on the deck and sat in those while they played. They could easily kneel if it were in the grass. The kids loved it...they saw it on the internet and wanted this over one of those inflatable waterslides. It was a much better deal! The cover is a bit difficult to fasten on but that should keep unwanted critters out and keep the cover on during windy days. So far, seems worth the $44 I spent. It is what it is...a $44 sand table...there's always room for improvement but the kids are completely happy with it the way it is. Yes, I would purchase it again:-)
Excellent Sand Table!, March 12, 2010
This table has endless uses no matter the season. We use it outdoors all Summer and indoors all winter. When we have it outside it's filled with sand and all sorts of trucks, sandmolds, shovels, etc. to use in conjunction with the sand. It has an easy to use cover to keep out animals and to keep the sand from getting wet and hard. In the colder months, of which we have many in the Northwest, we use this indoors. We've filled it with cotton, shredded paper, beans, rice, oatmeal, etc. This is always a big hit and gives adults a nice break.
