Awesome puzzles for 2+ year olds, April 15, 2010
We just got this puzzle set for our 26 month old. She was able to do a large four piece puzzle independently so we thought we'd try something a little more challenging. She needs help with these puzzles but absolutely loves doing them (so much so that playdoh has taken a back seat) and after a few days is able to do parts on her own. It's a great activity for a parent to do with a younger toddler and in addition to the problem solving, we like to use language to help her place the pieces rather than physically showing her so it's great for language development too. And I love that the the pieces can be stored in their own box with the clever sections for each of the four puzzles. We'll be flying at the end of the month and I plan to hide the puzzles for a week before the trip because it'll be a terrific plane activity for her. Highly highly recommended. In fact, I'm about to buy another set as a birthday gift right now.
P.S. We've had to do some minor repair (you'll need some glue or adhesive) which is why I only give 3 stars for durability. Still recommended!
P.P.S. I had to add this quick update: This is the first "toy" that my daughter plays with when she wakes up and the last before she goes to bed. This will become a staple birthday gift for 2 year olds! By far the best $10 I have spent in a long time.
Love the box, April 15, 2010
My two year old grandson loves puzzles. The puzzles in a box are perfect. He puts one together, moves it off the box, does another one, etc and then breaks them down one at a time and puts them back into their partition.
Very Clever Design, February 13, 2010
I bought these puzzles for my 3-year-old grandson for Christmas. The pictures were colorful, and of course, boys love vehicles. He had no difficulty handling the pieces, or putting them together without assistance. This toy is cleverly designed and extremely durable, unlike cardboard puzzles which fall apart easily. Pieces are much less likely to get lost due to the storage compartment. The top is a great platform for putting the puzzles together. Inside, all four puzzles are neatly stored in sections. The pieces are easily sorted back into sections by matching according to the shape on the back of each piece. (It took me awhile before I figured this out!) The entire box is small enough to be quite portable.
Overall, this is a good inside toy for a preschooler.
Melissa & Doug Deluxe Vehicles in a Box Jigsaw Puzzles, February 2, 2010
Hi,
My grandson so loves/enjoys these puzzles! i really like the fact that you can store them in a wooden box and that the lid of the box helps keep the puzzle pieces within an area that the children can complete the puzzle! i like melissa and doug products, they are well made and self contained! on a scale of 1-10, 10 meaning great, this rates 10+.
