I've used garmin products for years in Europe and the US. This is a beautiful, easy to read, touch screen, informational unit once it's well mounted. It needs a wide mounting base because you have to flick the screen without moving the screen on its ball mount. Convenient to use in hands or on desk while trip planning. Just like refrigerator shopping, look for a reconditioned or blemished unit for a great price on this fine unit.

it is everything we expected and more... has street names, tells you what lane to be in, what direction your next turn is, it's great. Had a little difficulty with the initial map update. However an e-mail to Garmin cleared up the problem quickly. Great Value!!!

This has been a great unit so far, my friend was surprised it even took me the shorter way to his house (he said most units go the long way.) I like the increased size of the screen from our older unit, and I am very happy with this purchase. The battery doesn't last as long as I thought it would, but it is always used in the car so having it plugged in is not an issue. Of course Amazon had it to me in no time, there are never surprises with buying from them.
