Yep - broke within 4 minutes of use, April 17, 2010
If I was generous, I would say we got 1 hour use out of it since it took that long to charge it up. But in reality, and WITHOUT any kind of rough use at all, it broke on the second flight. The same broken part everyone else has noted - the tail rote doesn't work and it spins out of control.
It really isn't worth your time to play Russian Roulette whether a toy will actually work or not beyond 2 tries. And it's definitely NOT worth a disappointed kid. I gave this as a present - imagine my embarassment that it broke within the second try.
Instant Land Fill. Broke within 5 minutes of use. In the old trash can..., April 10, 2010
I got two of these and both lasted about 8 minutes combined. Tail rotor snaps off and throw the whole toy in the trash can. No replacement parts. Designed not to last and these fly terribly. The go up and spin around in circles....INSTANT LANDFILL>>>>>
GARBAGE: Bought 3, None of them lasted over 30 minutes, March 7, 2010
Seems like a fun toy, but out of all 3 that I bought (for myself and the kids) none of them lasted more than 30 minutes. Even the smallest spec of dust or debris will cause you to stop and clean the rotors every few minutes... One never really worked, no matter how much we tried to balance it out; the other 2 broke fairly quickly - uncontrollable spinning, imbalanced, and one of the wings broke. This product is not durable at all, and as far as age goes, it doesn't matter. Even an adult would have trouble, as I did. We never saw these even go forward, because they can not be steered at all or controlled in any way - the commercial is a miracle, I don't know how they even filmed it. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone, was such a let down and for the price... not worth it! They charge way too much for something that breaks in 30 min. and don't forget it's extremely small. In this case you don't get what you pay for...
FUN While it lasts - tail rotor stopped, February 7, 2010
This was a lot of fun while it lasted and it did seem to last a decent amount of time considering the number of crashes. I can say that I got my money's worth out of it but would have liked more. Mine died because the tail rotor stopped turning and thus the copter spins out of control. It is completely clean, no hair or anything, it just stopped rotating like the motor died or the connection to the tail rotor broke. It seems another reviewer had an issue with the tail rotor as well.
