You can hear it in classic brother acts across the musical spectrum, from the Louvin Brothers to the Everly Brothers and on down the decades through the Wilson brothers (Beach Boys), the Davies brothers (Kinks), the Allman Brothers and even the Brothers Gibb (a.k.a., the Bee Gees). You can clearly hear fraternal magic at work in the songs of Scott and Seth Avett, better known as the Avett Brothers, as well. That magic is abundantly evident on I and Love and You, the Avett Brothers' big-label debut, produced by Rick Rubin. Its 13 songs are delivered in a style that defies pigeonholing but might be described as a rootsy amalgam of folk, country, bluegrass, rock and pop - even a jab of punk-style dynamics here and there. With I and Love and You, The Avett Brothers have taken a giant step forward.

CUSTOMER REVIEWS Tasty Jams Suitable For Spreading, May 3, 2010 One of the best albums I have had the pleasure to listening to as of late. Spread these tasty jams on your hot biscuits! I LOVE IT!!, April 16, 2010 I bought this album knowing little about the Avett Brothers. I heard of them first when I was in Portland, OR a year ago and they were playing at the Crystal Ballroom. Everyone in town told me I should go see the show & that I would be blown away but not knowing the band and not wanting to shell out $20 bucks to see someone I've never heard of I declined. Then a year later I stumbled upon them again and listened to the clips on Amazon and decided to take a chance. And I am so glad I did! They have amazing lyrics, moving vocals & creative song stylings. I was more impressed than I can say when I first listened to the album and it's been in my car cd player since I bought it months ago! They have some jammy songs and some softer more melodic ones. Either way, I think there is something for everyone on this album. Also on the cd flap there is a long paragraph that is really worth the read... something that people rarely think about in the busy age that we live in. Go ahead, take a chance, and enjoy! Great Album from the Bros..., April 15, 2010 Excellent album. Have recently seen these guys in Byron Bay in Australia and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I think we saw five banjo strings break between the both shows (which featured music from this album) and the cello bow lost at least half of it's hair - wonderful music played with great energy. Great to listen to - even better experienced live..!!! Life Changing, April 6, 2010 I absolutely love this album; it's life-changing. It's comforting, it feels like home; the brothers' voices blend so well together and harmonize perfectly. There is not a single track on this album that I don't like.
